Mrs. Ole Refsell rites at Wallingford Tuesday
Mrs. Ole (Mildred) Refsell, 75, rural Wallingford, died Saturday [May 15, 1971] at 4:30 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past year.

She was born Aug. 5, 1895, at Hammond, Wis., to Mr. and Mrs. Bernt Jorstad. She received her education in the Hammond, Wis., area and attended high school at River Falls, Wis., and the River Falls Teacher’s College.

On Dec. 20, 1919, she was married to Ole Refsell at Minneapolis, Minn. After graduating from college, she taught in Wisconsin for one year, and taught for four years in the Wallingford area. She was interested in the Ingham Lake Bible Camp, and worked there for a number of years.

She was a member of Wallingford Lutheran Church and was active in the ladies’ organizations of the church and taught Sunday school for a number of years.

She is survived by her husband, Ole, Wallingford; one son, Robert Refsell, also of rural Wallingford; six grandchildren; five sisters, Mabel Jorstad, Wallingfod; Mrs. Elsie Gunderson, Wallingford; Mrs. Fred Owens, Hammond, Wis.; Nina Jorstad, Bakersfield, Calif.; and Mrs. Thor Nielsen, Wallingford.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Pannkuk officiating. Burial will be in the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home until noon on Tuesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 17, 1971)
