M.K. Refsell Funeral Rites Set Saturday
Martin Kenneth Refsell, 69, Estherville, died at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday [May 10, 1967] at Holy Family Hospital. He had been in failing health the past few years.

Mr. Refsell was born Dec. 8, 1897, at Estherville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. O.O. Refsell. He received his education in High Lake schools.

He was married Feb. 14, 1921, to Amanda Egeland of Wallingford, and lived in Emmet County all of his life. He farmed south of Wallingford for many years and moved to Estherville in1958. Since then he has been in semi-retirement.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Fredrick (Esther) Fitzgerald and Mrs. Harvey (Dorothy) Schroeder of Estherville and Mrs. Harold (Barbara) Herbrandson of Council Bluffs; two sons, Orris of Minneapolis and Ole of Indianapolis, Ind.; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. I.G. Ness of Wallingford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sons, and one daughter.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary Baptist church with the Rev. Denzil Neumann officiating. Burial will be in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Reese-Henry Funeral Home until time of the services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 11, 1967)
