Estherville – Services for Mrs. Donald (Margarette Barbara) Pro, 82, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with Pastors Kermit Rye and Michael Kronna of the Estherville Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1990 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.

She was born Feb. 12, 1907 at Radcliffe, the daughter of George and Emma (Weimer) Pfeil and attended and was a graduate of Radcliffe school. She was also a graduate of Iowa State University at Ames. She taught school in Wonona, Iowa before being employed as Emmet County’s first Home Demonstration Agent in Estherville, later worked at Golden Sun Feeds, Inc. n the testing laboratory. On March 12, 1938 she married Donald M. Pro at Radcliffe. She became the Emmet County Home Economist in the mid 1960’s until her retirement. She has been handicapped by illness since 1984 and been a resident at Rosewood since May, 1989. She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and Estherville Garden Club and a past president of PTA.

Survivors include her husband Donald, Estherville; one son Wallace, West Hartford, Conn.; two daughters: Mrs. Stephen (Barbara) Wood, Oronoco, Minn. and Mrs. Tom (Linda) Tobler, Kansas City, Kans.; four grandchildren and one sister Helen Simmons, Eldora.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 4, 1990)
