Rites Set for Mrs. Carl Peterson, 83
Mrs. Carl (Henrietta Groth) Peterson, 83, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, at the home of her cousin, Serena Berg of Estherville. She had been ill for six weeks.Family services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Wallingford Lutheran Church, the Rev. N.L. Jolivette officiating. Final rites will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Wallingford.
Friends may call at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home from today until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, at which time the body will be moved to lie in state at the church until the time of services.
Mrs. Peterson was born Nov. 1, 1877, on a farm south of Estherville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Halsden Groth. She was educated in rural and Estherville schools. She was married to Carl O. Peterson in Estherville on Feb. 21, 1907. The couple made their home in the rural Estherville and Wallingford vicinities. She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, a son, Harland of Dunnell, a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Larson of Reno, Nev., and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Rose Groth of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. C.J. Naglestad of Moorehead, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 27, 1960)
