Wallingford – Services for Mrs. Nordien (Linda) Peterson, 53, Wallingford, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery.Mrs. Peterson died Monday [May 25, 1981] at her home.
Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 9 o’clock tonight and at the church prior to services Thursday.
The daughter of Niels K. and Kristine Nielsen, she was born May 12, 1928, in Emmet County and received her education in Estherville schools. She was married to Nordien Peterson on Jan. 26, 1947, at Wallingford and lived her entire life in Emmet County.
She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church, High Lake Busy Beavers, a chaplain for the Gideon Auxiliary, group leader for the Friendship Bible Coffee Group, board member of Neighbors Against Crime, member of Lakeside Lutheran Home Auxiliary, census taker, member of the Wallaces Farmer Survey, Task Force on Drug and Alcohol Abuse, active in the Head Start Program, a member of the Emmet County Republican Committee, a member of the Spirit of Harmony Sweet Adeline group and Danish American Fellowship.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, Nordien, Wallingford; one son, Paul Peterson, Albia; two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Rhonda) Hand, Linden, and Marcia Peterson, Ruthven; two grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Kristine Nielsen, Estherville; one brother, Bernard Nielsen, Wallingford; and one sister, Mrs. Rosa Nielsen, Ringsted.
She was preceded in death by two sons, her father and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 27, 1981)
