Chester Paulson
Estherville – Services for Chester Paulson, 84, Estherville, will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Jack Torgersen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Dec. 15, 1997 at Holy Family Health Services.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
He was born Dec. 28, 1912 in Wallingford, the son of Paul and Bertha (Peterson) Paulson and attended Wallingford school and graduated from Estherville High School. Nov. 23, 1935 he married Pearl Bonstead at Graettinger. The couple farmed in Emmet County. In 1937 they purchased the Paulson family farm south of Estherville and farmed and lived there 61 years. In 1974 they moved into Wallingford. He worked as a hail adjuster for Farmers Mutual Hail Ins. Co. seven years. In Nov. 1995 the couple moved to Homestead Homes in Estherville. He was a lifelong member of Wallingford Lutheran Church where he served on the church council; served on the telephone board, Estherville Creamery board and township trustee.
Survivors include his wife Pearl of Estherville, son David of Fort Smith, Ark.; daughter-in-law Marty Paulson, New Brighton, Minn.; grandchildren: Nancy Pelegano, Steven Paulson, Kirstin Kopp, Jon Paulson, Annikka Erickson, Tory Paulson; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, parents, two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 17, 1997)
