Services Held Thursday for Oliver T. Osher, 75
Funeral services were held at Wallingford Lutheran church Thursday for Oliver Osher, 75, of Graettinger who died suddenly July 29. The Rev. Norbert Jolivette officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery near Wallingford. Pallbearers were Leonard Osher, Gilford Osher, Bernard Osher, Everett Osher, Ernest Duus and Bryon Rolfson, all nephews of the deceased.

Oliver Theodore Osher, 75, native of Graettinger, died at 8 p.m. Monday, July 29 of a heart attack. Mr. Osher had been in ailing health for several months but at the time he was fatally stricken, was keeping score for a horseshoe game near his home.

Mr. Osher was born March 26, 1882 in Emmet County where he also attended rural school. He homesteaded in Alberta, Canada for 12 years prior to his marriage to Anna Jensen in 1920. From the time of their marriage until 1945 they farmed northwest of Graettinger. They retired from farming in 1945 and moved into Graettinger, where Mr. Osher resided with his family until the time of his death.

Mr. Osher was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran church, having held various offices in the congregation.

He is survived by his widow and a daughter, Arlee, at home; two sisters, Mrs. John (Anna) Jacobson and Mrs. Henry (Julia) Duus of Graettinger and William Osher of Saint Anne, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Gladys Mae [May], five brothers and one sister. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, August 8, 1957)
