Graettinger Man Killed Tuesday
Orland Buford Paulson, 34, Graettinger, was killed at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 1973, when the limb of a tree fell on him. Mr. Paulson was trimming trees on the Loren Anderson farm near Wallingford when the accident occurred. He was said to have died instantly of massive skull fracture.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wes Brodin officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Paulson was born Feb. 17, 1939, in Wallingford to Mr. and Mrs. Francis Paulson. He received his education in Graettinger schools, graduating from Graettinger high school. ON Sept. 7, 1968, he was married to Darlene Juhl in Estherville.
He has farmed in the area all his life and was a member of Pork Producers and Farm Bureau. He was also active in church work having served as Sunday School superintendent and church secretary.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene; and one son, Greg Francis, 2, of rural Graettinger; his mother, Mrs. Avis Paulson, and grandmother, Mrs. Levi Olson, both of Wallingford.
Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, after 3 p.m. Thursday until time of services Friday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 21, 1973)
