Funeral of Ole Osher, 75, Was Held Friday
Services Held at Wallingford
The funeral of Ole B. Osher, 75, who passed away at Story City January 12, was held at Wallingford Friday, January 14, at two o’clock at the Wallingford Lutheran church.

Following the death of Mr. Osher the remains were brought to Graettinger to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Duus. Short services were held at the home just before the regular funeral services at Wallingford.

Many old neighbors and friends were in attendance at the funeral. Services were conducted by the Rev. C.B. Gunderson, pastor of the Wallingford church. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. The pallbearers were Bernard Osher, Everett Osher, Leonard Osher, Gilford Osher, Earnest Duus and Bert Rolfson.

Ole B. Osher was born in Emmet county, Iowa, April 18, 1873. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Burgess N. Osher. He spent all his lifetime in the Wallingford and Graettinger communities except a few years in North Dakota.

He was brought by his parents for baptism to one of the school houses used for worship at that time and was confirmed together with a class of young people at the first service in the new Brugal church, later called West Immanuel, and now called the Riverside church.

For the past ten or twelve years he was in poor health and about four years ago when his health failed to the extent he was no longer able to care for himself, arrangements were made so that he was permitted to live at the Lutheran church home for the aged at Story City. There he remained until his death. For the past two months he was in very poor health and passed away on January 12, 1949, at 4:00 a.m.

Preceding him in death besides his parents are four brothers, Nels, Ed, Lewis and John. Surviving are three brothers, William, of St. Anne, Illinois; Oliver, of Graettinger; and Gilbert of Estherville. There are three sisters, Mrs. Anna Jacobonson, Mrs. Henry Duus and Mrs. Julia Nelson, all of Graettinger. Besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Osher had a great many friends in Emmet and Palo Alto counties. He was a fine type of gentleman and was highly regarded by all who knew him.

The Times extends sympathy to the brothers and sisters and the other relatives in their sorrow. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, January 20, 1949)
