Nels B. Osher
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 10, for Nels B. Osher of Wisconsin, at the Wallingford Lutheran church with the Rev. L.G. Hinderaker, officiating. Brief services were first held from the Ole Osher home at Wallingford.

Nels B. Osher, son of Mr. and Mrs. N.B. Osher, was born in St. Croix county, Wis., Oct. 11, 1868. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. When he was a baby, his parents immigrated to Emmet county in a covered wagon, first settling on a farm near Wallingford known now as the Tobe Shiley farm.

Later on they homesteaded on a farm in Twelve Mile Lake township. He continued farming in Twelve Mile Lake township for a few years and later he went to Minnesota, where he was engaged in farm work for a number of years. He then came back to Iowa for a few years and in July, 1920, he moved to McNaughton, Wis.

Last spring he became quite ill and the amputation of one of his limbs became necessary. As soon as he regained strength, he came to Iowa and spent two months with his brothers and sisters. The latter part of June he returned to his home in Wisconsin, where he passed away Oct. 4, 1944. Had he lived seven more days he would have reached his 76th birthday.

He is survived by five brothers, Ole of Wallingford, Ed, Oliver and Gilbert of Graettinger, and William of St. Ann, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Jacobson, Mrs. Henry Duus and Mrs. Alfred Nelson all of Graettinger. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 11, 1944)
