Graettinger – Funeral services for Margaret Osher, 76, of Wallingford will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Arlyn Norris officiating. Interment will be at Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. She died Aug. 31 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Visitation was held Monday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born on Oct. 30, 1925 in Wallingford, the daughter of Conrad and Dora (Jensen) Refsell. She graduated from Graettinger High School in1944. After her graduation, she attended Waldorf College for two years.

Margaret was united in marriage to Bernard L. Osher on Sept. 11, 1949 at Wallingford Lutheran Church in Wallingford. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in the Wallingford area where they farmed.

They retired from farming in 1982 and moved into Wallingford. Bernard died August 2, 1988.

Margaret also was employed as a teacher’s aide in the Estherville school system at the McKinley school She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes basketball fan.

Margaret was a member of Wallingford Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and also sang in the choir. She also was a member of the Farm Bureau and Sons of Norway.

Margaret is survived by one son, Paul Osher and his wife Cindy of Jackson, Minn.; one daughter, Susan Posey of Estherville; five grandchildren: Jon Osher, Elizabeth Osher, Nichole Watts, Steve Anderson, Jerry Posey Jr.; one great granddaughter, Kylie Jean Watts; and one brother, Dr. Oliver Morris Refsell of Huntsville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 3, 2002)
