Wallingford – Edwin O. Osher, 62, Wallingford, died at Phoenix, Ariz. Thursday, May 8. He had been spending the winter in Arizona. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wesley Brodin officiating and burial at the Wallingford Cemetery.Mr. Osher was born December 20, 1912 in Wallingford to Mr. and Mrs. Nels Osher and received his education in rural Wallingford school and Estherville High School. He was married to LaVon Logan at Carrol [Carroll] and spent his entire life in the Wallingford area.
He had been employed on the Alaskan Highway and in Wisconsin as a heavy equipment contractor and served with the U.S. Army from 1933-36. He also farmed. He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, LaVon; one son, Michael E., Wallingford; one daughter, Mrs. Sharon MacDonald, Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred DeWall, Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. Viola Lipe, Northridge, Calif.; two brothers, Wayne, Mesa, Ariz. and Gary, Phoenix. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, until noon Tuesday when the body will be taken to lie in state at the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 12, 1975)
