O.D. Olson Funeral Held
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 4th at Wallingford Lutheran Church for O.D. Olson, 81 years old former Roland resident who passed away at the Holy Family Hospital at Estherville after a three weeks illness. Services were conducted by his pastor Rev. C.B. Gunerson [Gunderson] with a prayer service at the funeral home in Estherville at 1:30 and services at the Wallingford Lutheran church at 2:00. He was laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.

Osmond Daniel Olson, son of Jeremiah and Inger Olson, was born, December 13, 1865 on the old Olson homestead near Roland. He was baptized the same year at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City.

He lived around Roland until 191- when he moved to Wallingford, Iowa where he resided until his death, June 2. He was married to Miss Serina Larson in May 1899. She preceded him in death June 3, 1943.

He leaves to mourn his passing four children, Jeffrey Olson of Wallingford, Ilene of Wallingford, Esther of Wheaton, Ill., and Mrs. Ruth Olson Brownstone of Clear Lake; also five grandchildren and one great granddaughter, Diane Marie Young. Surviving also are three sisters, Mrs. Julia Sigmond of Roland, Mrs. G.O. Paulsrud of Randall, Mrs. Minelva Anderson of Ames and one brother, Josiah Olson of Wallingford, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Those from a distance attending the funeral were Dr. and Mrs. Brownstone, Mr. and Mrs. S. Hall, and Mrs. Estegaard of Clear Lake, Miss Esther Olson of Wheaton, Ill., Rev. and Mrs. G.O. Paulsrud of Randall, Mrs. Minelva Anderson of Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Paulsrud of Dodge Center, Minn., Harvey Lura, Bonnie Lou Lura and Harriette Lura and Mrs. Peter Teig of Roland, Mr. and Mrs. George Brown, Miss Gusta Brown of Eagle Grove and John Roseland of Omaha, Nebr.
