Wallingford – Services for Harley Ordine Olson, 58, Wallingford, were held Monday morning at Calvary Gospel Assembly Church in Estherville with Pastor David Ogren officiating. Interment was in Wallingford Cemetery. He died Friday, July 29, 1983 at his home. Fuhrman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Olson was born May 5, 1925 in Emmet County, the son of Ordine and Adaline (Sandvig) Olson. He attended Graettinger School where he graduated with the class of 1943. On Feb. 28, 1955, he was united in marriage with Shirley Rasmussen at Wallingford. They farmed in the Graettinger area 18 years until 1972 when they moved east of Wallingford. In March 1982 they moved into Wallingford. He attended Calvary Gospel Assembly Church; was a member of the Wallingford American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served with the United States army in the Korean Conflict from Jan. 1 to Dec. 1952.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, Wallingford; two daughters: Linda Olson, Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Connie Olson, Wallingford; one son, Ron, Wallingford; two grandchildren; Bobbi Jo and Travis Olson; his mother, Mrs. Adaline Olson, Estherville; three sisters: Ardys Walker, Ft. Dodge, Phyllis Faber, Forest City, and Shirley Ness, Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his father. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 1, 1983)
