Adaline Olson
Estherville – Services for Adaline G. [Geneveive] Olson, 90, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. She died Thursday, Oct. 18, 1990 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Adaline Sandvig was born Feb. 16, 1900 in Lost Island Township, Palo Alto county, Iowa, the daughter of Sam and Mary (Johnson) Sandvig. She attended country schools, Graettinger High School and Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She taught in various country schools in the area. Following her marriage to Ordine A. Olson on Jan. 20, 1923 the couple farmed in the Graettinger-Wallingford area until retiring in 1971. She has made her home in Estherville since her husband’s death in January, 1972, and has been a resident at Good Samaritan Center since 1980.

She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide and church circle

Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Robert (Ardys) Walker, Fort Dodge; Phyllis Faber, Forest City and Mrs. Oliver (Shirley) Ness, Omaha; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon Sandvig of Estherville and sister Erlene Aanonson Phoenix, Ariz. and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Charles (Shirley) Baker, Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son; parents; three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 20, 1990)
