Bennie M. Nelson [Bendick Martin] Dies in Tacoma
Bennie M. Nelson, 83, former Wallingford resident died Feb. 15 in Tacoma, Wash.

Mr. Nelson has been in failing health for some time.

He was born Jan.16, 1885 in Jack Creek Township near Wallingford to Mr. and Mrs. Nels Nelson.

He attended rural Emmet County schools and Waldorf Junior College at Forest City.

He was married Jan. 5, 1910 to Pauline Jacobson at her parents farm home near Wallingford.

She preceded him in death in 1932.

In September, 1934, Mr. Nelson married Florence Wensel in Estherville.

He has farmed near Wallingford until his retirement about 2 years ago when he moved to Tacoma.

He is survived by his wife Florence, of Tacoma; and two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Olive) Nasby of Petersburg, Minn. and Mrs. Stanley (Lois) Hill of Olympia, Wash.; six grandchildren and an undetermined number of great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include three sisters: Mrs. S.T. Dybdahl of Wallingford; Mrs. Helen Refsell of Robinsdale, Minn., and Alma Nelson, a resident of the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Four brothers also survive: James and Lewis Nelson of Wallingford; Norris of Fort Dodge and – of --.
