Plan Rites for R.F. Lowman at Belmond Church
Belmond – Funeral services for Roy F. Lowman, 68, of Belmond will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Methodist Church at Belmond. Mr. Lowman died Sunday at a Belmond hospital where he was taken Saturday after a stroke. Burial will be at Wallingford.

Mr. Lowman, a retired salesman, lived in Clear Lake until 1942 when he moved to Belmond. Prior to coming to Clear Lake he lived at Kelly, Graettinger and Wallingford where he was a farmer. He was born Sept. 6, 1889 at Runnels, the son of Henry S. and Louisa Lowman.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Russell Tideback, Belmond; and four sons, Irvin, Milford; Hyle, Clear Lake; Ben, Anamosa; and Victor, Phoenix, Ariz., 14 grandchildren, six brothers and sisters.

He was a master Mason of the King Solomon Lodge at Belmond. The Fulton Funeral Home at Belmond is in charge. (Mason City Globe Gazette, Mason City, IA, December 10, 1957)

R.F. Lowman Funeral Held on Wednesday
Services for R.F. Lowman, 68, father of Irvin Lowman of Milford, were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 from the Methodist church in Belmond. Rev. Maurice Jones officiated. Burial was made at Wallingford, Iowa, the former home of the Lowman family.

Mr. Lowman died Sunday, Dec. 8, following a stroke which occurred Saturday. Mr. Lowman had been a traveling salesman until his health forced his retirement several years ago.

He is survived by his widow, four sons, Irvin of Milford, Hyle of Clear Lake, Ben of Anamosa, Victor of Phoenix, Ariz., and a daughter, Mavis, Mrs. Russell Teteback of Belmond. Fourteen grandchildren also survive. (Milford Mail and Terril Record, Milford, IA, December 12, 1957)
