Knute [Knut Olson] Loken Dies; Funeral is Wednesday
Knute Loken of Estherville died Saturday [April 10, 1938, MN death index] in the Ebenezer old people’s home in Minneapolis after an illness of five months.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Ebenezer home. The Rev. C.S. Vang, rector of the home will officiate.
Mr. Loken was born in Norway and had lived in Estherville for many years. He is well known here. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 11, 1938)

Body of Retired Farmer is Brought Here For Burial TomorrowKnut Loken, well known retired Emmet county farmer, died at the Ebenezer Old Peoples’ home in Minneapolis Saturday. Mr. Loken was about 80 years old and had made his home in Estherville since retiring from active farming until last October when he was taken to the Ebenezer home.
Born in Norway, Mr. Loken came to America as a young man. He farmed near Wallingford and in North Dakota before coming to this city.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon at two-thirty from the Estherville Lutheran church in charge of Rev. L.A. Mathre. Interment will be made in the Wallingford cemetery beside his wife. The couple had no children and there are no known brothers or sisters in America. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in the Estherville Lutheran church for Knute Loken, who died Saturday in Minneapolis, Minn. Rev. L.A. Mathre officiated at the service and interment was in the Wallingford cemetery.Mr. Loken had lived in Estherville for many years and last October entered the Ebenezer Old People’s Home in Minneapolis. He has been in poor health throughout the winter.
