Mrs. Knut Loken passed away at her home in this city on last Sunday morning after an extended illness. The Loken family have resided here for several years. Mrs. Loken was born in Norway on February 2, 1856. Before moving to this city they resided in the southern portion of the county. The funeral services will be held from the Lutheran church in this city on Friday afternoon at one thirty and the remains will be laid to rest in the cemetery at Wallingford. Obituary of Mrs. Elizabeth Lokken
Mrs. Elizabeth Lokken [Loken], nee Olson, was born in Kvindherred Parish Hardanger Norway February 2nd, 1856, where she was baptized and later at the age of 15 confirmed as a member of the Lutheran Church. She emigrated to America and came to Lake Mills, Iowa, in June, 1884. Later she went to North Dakota where she was married to Knut Loken in 1889. In 1909 they came to Wallingford and then four years later they took up their residence in Estherville. Mrs. Lokken has been in failing health for some time. Last week her condition became so serious that she was taken to the Coleman hospital. She passed away Sunday morning at 4 o’clock. Funeral will be held at the Estherville Lutheran church and at the Wallingford church at 2:30. Interment will be at the Wallingford cemetery beside her parents.
