Wallingford – Services for Mrs. Lester (Doris) Larsen, 72, of Wallingford, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Friday, February 4, 1994 at Northern Cochise Memorial Hospital at Wilcox, Ariz.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born Aug. 22, 1921 at Estherville, the daughter of Louis and Helen (Blank) Hintz and attended and graduated from Estherville School. She received her Master’s Degree at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minn. On Nov. 27, 1941 she was united in marriage with Lester I. Larsen at Estherville. The couple lived their entire married life on a farm southwest of Wallingford. She was employed in the Emmet county School district for over 20 years.

She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son Allan Larsen of Wallingford; one brother, Fred Hintz, Altoona; two sisters-in-law, Inga Hubbard of Estherville and Evalyn Larsen of rural Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband who died Oct. 17, 1991. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 9, 1994)
