Estherville – Services for Ada Estelle Larsen, 96, were held Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with pastor Marcia Hall officiating. Interment was in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. She died Friday, November 9, 1990 at Holy Family Hospital. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 15, 1899 [1894] at Estherville, the daughter of Thomas and Dorothey (Myhre) Storhow and was a graduate of Estherville High School in 1913. She also attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught school in Dakota City, Humboldt County and Estherville. On Aug. 2, 1922 she married Henry M. Larsen at Estherville. The couple moved to LaGrange, Ill. and lived 38 years; after retiring the couple returned to Estherville where she has lived since. In August 1987 she moved to Rosewood Manor.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville and LaGrange, where she taught Sunday School over 20 years; Federated Women’s Club; Founder of Estherville Federated Garden club in 1968, and a past president; Charter member of Emmet County Historical Society; member Audubon Society and the Auxiliary to Maurice Doyle American Legion Post 91.

Survivors include two sons: Kenneth Larsen, Ellingston, Mo. and Dr. Stanley Larsen, St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Rusley, Fargo, N.D.; 7 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband May 23, 1990. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 14, 1990)
