Obituary
On the 15th day of December, Sunday morning, occurred the death of Mr. Edmond Kreis after a severe illness of three weeks of typhoid fever. The angel of death entered the happy home for the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thought and intents of the heart. Then, therefore, let us come boldly into the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in the time of need. He was married to Miss Mary Everson in1892, of High Lake, and was a good husband and no happier couple could have been found, and three years of happy life is better than 25 years of misery. He was known as one of the best and most industrious famers of Emmet county and known to all as an honorable and intelligent man. He has lived in Wallingford for twenty-five years and he was twenty-nine years old when he died. He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, child, mother, three sisters and a brother. Mr. Engh, of Estherville, preached the funeral sermon at the Lutheran church. The writer wishes to express his heartfelt sympathy. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, December 25, 1895)

We were misinformed in the statement last week that Edmund Kreis, of Wallingford had been at the asylum. We regret the error very much. The two Kreis boys at the asylum were Frank and Will; Edmund was the oldest of the brothers and had enjoyed good health up to the time of the sickness that resulted in his death. Mr. Kreis was highly respected and his demise is mourned by all who knew him. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, December 26, 1895)
