R.J. Herum, Wallingford, Dies at 63
Raymond Jacob Herum, 63, died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday [May 16, 1965] at his farm home near Wallingford from a heart attack.Mr. Herum was born Dec. 19, 1901, at Wallingford, the son of Jacob and Ina Herum. He received his education in the High Lake and Estherville.
He was married in 1926 to Elsie Amdahl in Estherville. He lived in the Wallingford area all his life and was a life-long member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Ronald, Richard, and Phillip, all of Wallingford; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Percy Herum of Dolliver, Joe Herum of Wallingford, and Robert G. Herum of Lexington, Ky.; and a sister, Mrs. Forrest Peterson of Graettinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wallingford Lutheran Church, Rev. Robert E. Glaser officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Wallingford.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today until Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Nephews of Mr. Herum will be pallbearers: Vernon Torreson, Donald Torreson, Allen Peterson, Marvin Herum, Kenneth Herum and Donald Herum.
Honorary pallbearers will be C.L. Torreson, Norman Mickelson, Porter Thoreson, Bernard Osher, Morris Dalen and Lester Larsen. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 17, 1965)
