Deaths
Mrs. Joe (Maggie) Herum, 70, Wallingford, died at 4:45 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending at Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 26, 1972)

Services Wednesday
Services for Mrs. Joseph (Maggie) Herum, 70, Wallingford, who died Monday, Sept. 25, 1972, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wallingford Lutheran Church.

The Rev. John Pannkuk will officiate for the services. Burial will be made in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 1, 1902, in Dallas, Wis., to Knut and Bertha Jacobson Amdahl. She came to Emmet County with her parents and was educated in schools in the area. On Feb. 24, 1925, she was married to Joseph Herum in Wallingford. They farmed in the Wallingford area until 1936 when they moved to Spicer, Minn, where they lived two years. They then moved to Willmar, Minn., living there six years and then to Kirkhoven, Minn., staying four years.

In 1942 they went into the implement business at Bricelyn, MInn., staying until 1953 when they moved back to the Wallingford area, where they have lived since. Mrs. Herum was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son, Marvin Herum of Terril; two grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters. The brothers are Jacob Amdahl of Wallingford and Orville Amdahl of Kirkhoven, Minn., and her sisters are Mrs. Ted Torreson of Graettinger, Mrs. Elsie Herum and Mrs. Selma Johnson, both of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one infant daughter and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be Ronald, Richard and Philip Herum, Vernon Torreson, Donald Torreson and Curtis Amdahl.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville at any time today and until noon Wednesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 26, 1972)
