Funeral Rites Conducted for J.A. Haring
Funeral services for J.A. Haring was held at Sternborg Funeral Chapel at Estherville Tuesday afternoon, October 6, with Pastor C.B. Gunderson officiating. Burial was at Riverside cemetery east of Wallingford.

Joseph A. Haring, son of William and Magdalena Haring, was born in Pennsylvania in 1872. When he was six years old, he accompanied his parents to Clinton, Ia., where he attended public school until he graduated from high school. Then he learned the machinists trade which he followed until 1908 when he and his brother-in-law, Frank Irwin, conducted a mercantile business in Marseilles, Ill., for one year. In 1910 both families moved to Wallingford and were in partnership for a number of years. Mr. Haring bought his partner’s share and conducted a store in Wallingford until 1912.

On November 24, 1898, Mr. Haring was united in marriage to Miss Myra Irwin [per Myra’s obit, maiden name was Wesner]. Mrs. Haring died in 1942, then Mr. Haring lived in North Dakota for some years. The past few years he has lived with his son, Irwin at Peoria, Ill., at whose home he died Sunday morning, Oct. 4 of a heart attack. Besides his son he is survived by two granddaughters.
