Hanson Rites Are Monday
Edward Hanson, 65, died at 6:30 a.m. today at the Simpson Nursing home after a lingering illness. Mr. Hanson had not been well for the past 14 years.

He was born Feb. 29, 1892, at Milford, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hanson. The family moved to the Wallingford community in 1894. Mr. Hanson, who never married, worked as a county maintenance man for 30 years. He was a long-time member of the Wallingford Lutheran church.

Surviving are four brothers, Julius Hanson, Winslow, Ariz., Emil and Otto Hanson, Portland, Ore., and Carl Johnson, Fairview, S.D. A sister, Mrs. Asher Peterson lives at Wallingford. Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services have been tentatively set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Wallingford Lutheran church with the Rev. Norbert Jolivette officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery at Wallingford. Friends may call at Sandin Fuhrman funeral home from Saturday afternoon until 11 a.m. Monday when the body will be taken to the church where it will lie in state until the funeral at 2 p.m. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 21, 1958)

Funeral services for Edward Hanson which were tentatively set yesterday will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wallingford Lutheran church, as was announced. The Rev. Norbert Jolievette will officiate. Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral for Edward Hanson were Mrs. Robert Hanson and son Michael of Winslow, Ariz., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Greenwood of Kansas City (the former Betty Hanson), Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hanson and Otto Hanson of Portland, Oregon. The Oregon people came via plane to Minneapolis Saturday and will return by train from Minneapolis Thursday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson of Fairview, S.D. and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Peterson and family of Sioux Center and Mrs. Gib Blom of Milford came on Monday.
