Wallingford – Services for Helen Gunderson Husby, 89, Estherville, were held today at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with interment in Riverside Cemetery, Wallingford.

Mrs. Husby died Saturday, April 16, 1977, at the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville. Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Jan. 3, 1888, near Wallingford, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Egertson. She received her education in rural Wallingford schools and attended high school in Jewell, teaching many years following graduation.

In 1908 she was married to Albert Gunderson at Wallingford. Following their marriage they lived at Lodi, Wis., for many years and then returned to the Wallingford area. Mr. Gunderson died in 1935. In 1939 she was married to Mark Husby in Minneapolis, Minn., and the couple lived in the Jackson, Minn., area. Following his death in 1961, she returned to the Estherville and Wallingford areas and became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in 1971.

Mrs. Husby was a member of the Wallingford and Jackson Lutheran Churches.

She is survived by two sons, LeRoy Gunderson, Williston, N.D., and Sherman Gunderson, Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. K.M. (Helen) Davies, Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Duane (Mary Ann) Wokasch, Buffalo Lake, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one sister, Gunda Egertson, a resident of the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, one son, her parents, three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 18, 1977)
