Henry Hansen
Estherville – Henry (Hank) Hansen, 78, of Estherville, died at Holy Family Hospital Saturday [February 6, 1988]. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Neal Armstrong at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with burial to follow at the East Side Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home.

Mr. Hanson was born June 5, 1909, at Ruthven, the son of Chris and Mary (Jensen) Hansen. He moved to Graettinger with his parents at age eight, and received his education in the Ruthven and Graettinger schools.

He was married to Eithel Bunday Oct. 2, 1933, at Clarion, and the couple lived in Graettinger for two years where Mr. Hansen was employed by Palo Alto County.

They moved to Estherville in 1937 where he worked for his brother, Bill, for six years. In 1943, he started Hansen Transfer, a trucking company. He began working at Estherville High School as a custodian in 1968, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church here.

Surviving are his wife, Eithel of Estherville; a son, Harvey Hansen of Estherville; five daughters: Mrs. William (Mary) Thomas of Estherville; Mrs. James (Sandra) Ramsey of Estherville; Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Pedersen of Gowrie; Mrs. Duane (Thelma) Soucek of Moville, and Mrs. Herb (Grace) Cole, also of Moville.

Twenty-four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene; a granddaughter, his parents, two sisters and six brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 8, 1988)
