Mrs. Henry Egertson Dies at Age of 70

Mrs. Henry Egertson, 70, long time resident of Estherville, died last night at the Holy Family Hospital. The cause of death was due to a heart attack. Mrs. Egertson had been in poor health for a year.

The former Hilda Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P.S. Anderson, was born on Nov. 27, 1891, in Estherville. She received her education in Estherville and at Jewell Lutheran College at Jewell.

Mr. and Mrs. Egertson were married Nov. 11, 1919, and they lived on a farm near Estherville until September, 1961. At that time they moved to Estherville. Before her marriage, Mrs. Egertson was a rural Emmet County school teacher. Mrs. Egertson was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Egertson is survived by her husband, two sons, Stanley and Richard Egertson, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Frank McKinney, Des Moines, and two grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Harold Anderson and Theodore Anderson both of St. Paul, Minn., and Chester Anderson and Oelwein Anderson, both of Wallingford; and one sister, Mrs. Carl Newguard, Estherville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Benjamin Coltvet officiating. Friends may call tomorrow until 11 a.m. Friday at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home. The body will then be taken to the church where it will lie in state until time of service. Burial will be in the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery.

The family has established a memorial for the Emmet County Heart Fund. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 3, 1962)
