Carl Sevatson Dies After Long Illness

Carl Edward Sevatson, 76, lifetime resident of the Estherville community died yesterday morning at the Balmer Rest Home. Mr. Sevatson had been ill for some time, and hospitalized off and on for the past two years.

Mr. Sevatson was born Dec. 31, 1879 in Emmet county. He attended the Emmet county schools and then farmed south of Estherville until his retirement a few years ago. After his retirement he continued to live on the farm until recently.

Survivors include six sisters, Mrs. John (Bertha) Wigton of Eumclaw, Wash.; Mrs. O.J. (Emma) Anderson, Wallingford; Mrs. Marvin (Gena) Miller, Sumner Wash.; Mrs. John (Anna) Pecor, San Diego, Calif.; Lena Sevatson, Wallingford, and Mrs. Alma Peterson, Estherville; three brothers, Martin at the Balmer Rest Home; Steve of Carson, Ill. and Louis of Wallingford.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at Sternborg Funeral home and 2 p.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran church, the Rev. C.B. Gunderson officiating.

Friends may call at Sternborgs from Tuesday noon until time of services Wednesday. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery in Wallingford. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 14, 1956)
