People in this vicinity were shocked to hear the sad news that Mrs. Sevat Sevatson had passed away Monday [Tuesday, March 27, 1900]. She had been ill for some time but none thought her life so near to its close. She leaves a husband and nine children to mourn her loss. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, April 5, 1900)

The funeral services of Mrs. Sevatson of Twelve Mile Lake, was held Friday in the Brujel church. The deceased leaves a husband and several children to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother.

Mrs. Severt Sevatson died Tuesday morning after months of suffering. She has been an invalid for years, but bore her afflictions without a murmur and was ready when the final summons came to relieve her of her sufferings.
