Wallingford – S.T. Dybdahl, 83, Wallingford, died at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., Monday [February 23, 1970] night. Services are pending at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. Wallingford – Selmer Theodore Dybdahl, 83, Wallingford, died Monday evening at the Veteran’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. He had been ill for two months.He was born Oct. 5, 1887, at Dell Rapids, S.D., to Gulick and Oliana [Myhre] Dybdahl. He came to Wallingford as a child and received his education in the Wallingford schools.
On Nov. 29, 1922, he was married to Sarah B. Nelson at Wallingford. They made their home in Wallingford and was owner and operator of a Barber Shop there.
He was baptized in the Willow Creek Lutheran Church in Dell Rapids, S.D., and was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church. He was also a 50-year member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Gerald, Lewis, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. John (Lorraine) Soyland, San Diamas [Dimas], Calif.; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Thalma Sovey, and Mrs. Rose Pyle, Tacoma, Wash.; and Mrs. Melva Edgerton, Seattle, Wash.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Rev. John Pannkuk officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery at Wallingford. There will be military graveside services by the Wallingford American Legion Post.
Friends may call all day until 10 a.m. Friday when the body will be taken to the church. Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville has charge of arrangements. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 25, 1970)
