Mrs. Anna Berg who lives south of Swan Lake mourns the death of her son, Julius. He died Monday [June 17, 1912] of typhoid fever after an illness of two weeks. The funeral services will be held at the Ryan Lake church Wednesday, June 20th. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 19, 1912)

The little son of Mrs. Annie Berge [Berg] died last week after a short illness of typhoid fever. The funeral was held Wednesday, Rev. Sevatson and Strand officiating. The remains were entered in the Riverside Cemetery. Everyone extends sympathy to the young mother in this hour of sorrow. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, June 26, 1912)

The Berg funeral was well attended. Rev. Sevatson of Gruver and Rev. Strand of Wallingford officiated. The little one was laid to rest in the Riverside cemetery.
