Obituary of James Anderson
James Anderson was born February 5, 1850, at Sonderhan, Denmark. He was confirmed into the Lutheran church at the age of 14. At the age of 22 he came to the U.S.A. and arrived at Cedar Falls the 24th day of June, 1872. In 1873 Miss Marie Nelson arrived from Denmark and they were united in marriage June 27, 1873. Mr. Anderson began work as a section foreman in 1873 and came to Emmet county August 21, 1882, where Mr. and Mrs. Anderson took up their residence at Wallingford and Mr. Anderson remained on the section at Wallingford until her retired November, 1918. Two children, Christiana and Henry, preceded him in death and his wife died in 1929.

Mr. Anderson passed away Thursday, March 10, 1932, at 3 a.m.

Three children are living: Christie and Charles Anderson and Mrs. Katie Misener, all of Wallingford; two grandchildren, Merle G. Misener, of Chicago, and Mrs. John Wee, Estherville; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at one o’clock at the home and at two o’clcok at the East Side Church at Wallingford, Rev. A. G. Bailey had charge of the services. Burial was made at the East Side Cemetery in Wallingford. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 16, 1932)
