Alvin T. Johnson 1929-1979
Wallingford – Services for Alvin Theodore Johnson, 52, Wallingford, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bethel Lutheran Church, Graettinger, with Pastor Virgil Anderson, Wallingford, officiating.

Interment will follow at the High Lake Cemetery. Furhman Funeral Home, Graettinger, is in charge of arrangements and friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday, until the time of services.

Mr. Johnson died at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, in the Story County Hospital, Nevada. He was born in rural Wallingford on Sept. 8, 1926, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Johnson. He was educated in the rural Wallingford school system.

He married Beverly Wilson on June 7, 1947, at Anoka, Minn. He farmed in the High Lake area and was a member of the Bethel Lutheran church, Graettinger.

His survivors include his father, Johnny; wife, Beverly; two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Jean) Lehmkuhl, South Sioux City, Neb., and Mrs. John (June) Nitchals, Wallingford; and two brothers, Paul, Storm Lake, and Ole, Minneapolis, Minn.

Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Fuhrman Watson, Graettinger, John Johnson, California, and Olive Johnson, Emmetsburg; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Jerry. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 28, 1979)
