Estherville – Services for Arthur M. Aanonson, 78, Estherville, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Obert Rust officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery [Wallingford Lutheran], Wallingford.

Mr. Aanonson died Monday morning at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday an at the church after 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Aanonson, he was born Nov. 2, 1900, in Emmet County. He received his education in rural Emmet County schools and was married to Effie Olsen on April 9, 1927, in Estherville.

He lived his entire life in Emmet County, farming until 1937. He then moved to Estherville and was employed by Lyman Oil Company until retiring in 1969. He was baptized and confirmed at the Wallingford Lutheran Church and after moving to Estherville, a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Mr. Aanonson is survived by his wife, Effie, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Joyce) Yates, Estherville; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one brother, Hilmer Aanonson, Minneapolis, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 28, 1979)
