Estherville – Services for Mrs. Effie M. Aanonson, 87, of Estherville will be held Friday, June 3, 1994 at 10:30 a.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church. Pastors Kermit Rye and Arlyn Norris will officiate. Burial will be held at the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. She died on May 30, 1994 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on June 2 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born August 12, 1906 in Emmet County, the daughter of Elmer and Emma (Christensen) Olson. She received her education in the Graettinger schools, graduating in 1925. She then attended summer school at Sheldon and received her teaching certificate. She taught in rural Emmet County schools prior to her marriage to Arthur M. Aanonson on April 9, 1927 at Estherville.

The couple farmed in Emmet County until 1938, when they moved into Estherville. She was employed by Holy Family Hospital, in the housekeeping department, from 1950 until her retirement in 1970. They became residents at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville in 1978. Her spouse died August 27, 1979. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church, E.L.C.W. and the Deborah Circle.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Joyce) Yates of Estherville; one granddaughter; one grandson and three great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 1, 1994)
