Selma Peterson, Wallingford, Dies; Rites Saturday
Selma Peterson, 22, Wallingford died this morning at her home near Wallingford after a long lingering illness.About four years ago Miss Peterson underwent a serious operation at Rochester, Minn., from which she never fully recovered.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Peterson, and two brothers, T-5 Nordein Peterson of Fort Robinson, Neb., and Donald who lives at home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon. A short service will be held at 1:30 p.m. from the Peterson home and at 2 o’clock from the Wallingford church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 22, 1944)

A lingering illness proved fatal Tuesday, August 22, to Miss Selma Peterson, 22, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Peterson, Wallingford. Four years ago Selma underwent an operation at Rochester but failed to recover.Besides the parents, two brothers, Nordein Peterson, T-5, Ft. Robinson, Neb., and Donald, living at home, survive her passing.
