Lloyd Paulmer Sabby, the son of Andrew Sabby and Carrie (Sevold) Sabby, was born March 8, 1918, in Rolette, North Dakota. He passed away Monday, October 29, 2007, at Rosewood Manor in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 89.

He received his eduation in the Rolette schools and graduated from Rolette High School. Following his graduation, he worked on farms in the Estherville area before enlisting in the United States Army in 1941. Lloyd served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II from 1942 through 1945.

On June 15, 1947, Lloyd was united in marriage to Naomi Peterson in Jewell, Iowa. The couple made their home in Estherville and Lloyd was employed at Hill Packing Company and later John Morrell and Company. He retired in 1982. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting for arrowheads, gardening, and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and the American Legion. Throughout his life, Lloyd remained in close contact with many of his fellow servicemen.

Grateful for having shared Lloyd's life are his wife, Naomi, of Estherville; his children, Ronald Sabby and his wife Wanda of Wallingford, Iowa, Dennis Sabby of Manly, Iowa, Karen Hanson and her husband Steve of Estherville, Iowa; grandchildren, Ryan Sabby, Evan Sabby, Nicholas Hanson and his wife, Katie, Jeremey Hanson and his wife Kristin, Elizabeth Hanson, and Briana Sabby; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Eli Hanson, Aubrey Hanson, Zoey Bush; brother, Leland Sabby of Valley City, North Dakota; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Lloyd in death were his parents; one brother, Gerauld; and one sister, Alva.
