Wallingford – Services for Norman B. [Bernard] Egeland, 80, are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment to be in the church cemetery. He died Sunday, Dec. 9, 1990 at McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Dec. 6, 1910 in 12 Mile Lake Township, Emmet County, Iowa, and was the son of Ole and Helena (Jensen) Egeland. He attended High Lake country school On July 6, 1933 he married Annie Paulson at her parents’ home in Jack Creek Township. After marriage the couple farmed in High Lake Township east of Wallingford until 1972 when he retired from farming. They moved into Wallingford in 1978.

He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church where he served on many committees; was a Trustee of High Lake Township and member of the elevator board.

Survivors include his wife Annie, Wallingford; one son Gail of Wallingford; four daughters: Mrs. Fred (Mary Ann) Moffitt, Everly; Mrs. Curtis (Marlene) Jass, Milford; Mrs. John A. (Beverly) Anderson and Mrs. Eldon (Marilyn) Garrelts both of Estherville; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Edward (Gladys) Christian, Tracy, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 12, 1990)
