Estherville – Funeral services for Mabel [Lorain] Poyzer, 87, of Estherville will be held Tuesday, December 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Willey officiating. Interment will be at East Side Memorial Cemetery in Estherville. She died December 22, 1994 at Good Samaritan Center.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, December 26th at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born April 22, 1907 in Olney, Ill., the daughter of Jacob and Laura Bell (Walters) Varner. She received her education in the Sac and Dickinson County schools and married Archie Poyzer on February 12, 1927 at her home near Spirit Lake. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Spirit Lake until 1935, when they moved to their farm home southeast of Estherville. She moved to Good Samaritan Center in 1992.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church all of her life, a 50-year member of the Ryan Lake club and belonged to Farm Bureau for more than 50 years.

Survivors include her twin sons Don of Estherville and Dean of Spirit Lake; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hazel Anderson of Hollandale, Minn. and Shirley Anderson of Anchorage, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on July 3, 1980, one brother, one great-granddaughter and two daughters-in-law. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 24, 1994)
