Estherville – Services for Dr. Elmer Lloyd Willey, 65, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Besore officiating. Interment will be in East Side Memorial Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 1989 at McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Sept. 1, 1923 at Baldwin, the son of Frank and Sophia (Weidermann) Willey and attended Calamus School, graduating from high school there then attended the Palmer College of Chiropractic at Davenport. May 18, 1948 he was united in marriage with Lola Mae Struck at Wheatland. After marriage the couple moved to Estherville in 1948 and Dr. Willey has operated a Chiropractic office here since that time.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Trustee and Elder; Past President of the Chiropractic Society of Iowa; Past President of the Estherville YMCA and member of the Bustle Rustler square dance club.
Survivors include his wife Lola, Estherville; three sons: Steven and wife, Chillicothe, Ill., James and wife, Estherville and Jeffrey and wife of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter Mrs. Jeffery (Debra) Scott, Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren; three brothers: Ralph, Mechanicsville; Lawrence, Center Junction and Robert, San Jose, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 18, 1989)
