Estherville – Funeral services for Harold D. Smith, 63, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Willey. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery with full military graveside rites by VFW Post 3388 and the American Legion Post 91, both of Estherville. He died on Saturday, September 14 at Holy Family Hospital.

There will be no visitation.

He was born on November 2, 1932 in Exira, the son of Russell and Veda (Jones) Smith. He received his education in the Exira schools. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. He moved to Estherville in 1956 and was employed at P.G. Grays’, did construction work, worked at Milford Die Cast and Pepsi. He was united in marriage to Lelyse Moffit on December 27, 1976 in Sioux Falls, S.D. He was employed for the past 27 years at Golden Sun Feeds in Estherville.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville.

He is survived by his wife Lelyse of Estherville; four daughters, Mrs. Monte (Becky) Morgan of Sheldon, Mo.; Dee Smith of Estherville; Mrs. Ken (Dawn) Elder of Heron Lake, Minn.; Mrs. Terry (Kristie) Sharp of Lamar, Mo.; Tanya Moffit of Estherville and nine grandchildren.
