Emmetsburg – Funeral services for Donald Floyd Sidles, 67, of Emmetsburg will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Emmetsburg with Reverend David Crow officiating. Interment will be held at the Eastside Memorial Cemetery in Estherville. He died on Monday, Nov. 8 at the Palo Alto County Hospital.

Visitation was held after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. Martin-Mattice Funeral Home of Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on May 11, 1932 the son of James and Gladys (Harris) Sidles. He attended school in Huntington. He worked for the city of Emmetsburg for several years and helped on farms in the area until he went to work for Emmetsburg Ready Mix. He worked there until his retirement in 1996 due to his health.

He was united in marriage to Alice Hoffmeyer on October 2, 1955 in Jackson, Minn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving until his discharge in 1954.

He was a member of the Emmetsburg United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; four sons, Jon Sidles of Windom, Minn.; Reggie Sidles of Emmetsburg; Ramon Sidles of Emmetsburg and Jay Sidles of Emmetsburg; his mother, Gladys; one sister, Darlene Naig and husband of Emmetsburg; two brothers, Arvin Sidles and wife of Emmetsburg and Terry Sidles and wife of Spirit Lake and three grandchildren.
