William Shonkwiler, 72, of Estherville, passed away Wednesday [September 19, 2007], at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville.

William Oliver Shonkwiler, the son of Oliver and Vera Gee, was born on February 20, 1935, in Estherville. He lived his entire life here in Estherville, except for the two years in the United States Army.

William is survived by his wife, Deanna (Syverson) of Estherville; two sons, Scott Shonkwiler, and his wife, Cheryl, of Rochester, Minnesota, and Brad Shonkwiler of Estherville; four grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Kline, and her husband, Robert, of Stevensville, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson.

No services will be held at his request. Private committal services will be at a later date. Interment will be at the East Side Cemetery in Estherville. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1215 N. 15th St., Estherville, Iowa, 51334. (MC)
