Marguerite "Marge" Rose (Humphreys) Sheppard, the daughter of James Milton and Sarah Mabel (Hopkins) Humphreys was born February 25, 1915, in Edgeley, North Dakota. Marge passed away Monday, July 25, 2011, at the Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 96.

She received her education in country schools near Merricourt, North Dakota until after the death of her father. In July, 1926 the family returned to Mt. Ayr, Iowa where she lived and graduated from High School in 1933.

On March 5, 1935, she was united in marriage to Jean L. Sheppard in Albany, Missouri. After their marriage, the couple lived in Mt. Ayr and moved to Estherville in 1942. Marge worked for the Ben Franklin Store in Estherville for several years. Jean passed away February 23, 1974.

She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Estherville where she taught Sunday School for several years.

Left to cherish Marge's memory are her two grandchildren, Brendan Sheppard and his wife, Cynthia of Burke, Virginia and Brandi Sheppard of Maryland; daughter-in-law, Nancy Sheppard and special friends, Jim and Carol Tholkes and family.

She has been preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John; five brothers and four sisters.
