Ringsted – Services for Mrs. Carrie Mouritsen, 96, of Estherville and formerly of Ringsted, will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ringsted with Pastor Larry Tantow officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Mouritsen died August 30, 1989 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Carrie Mouritsen was born February 11, 1891 to Nels and Katherine (Nissen) Jepsen at Peterson, Iowa. As a child she attended Ringsted schools. On February 21, 1921 she married Emil Mouritsen. The couple lived in Armstrong; Winner, S.D.; Fairmont, Easton, Ceylon and St. Peter, Minn. where he husband operated butcher shops. She returned to Ringsted in 1954 and in 1981 moved to Estherville where she resided in the Gardston Apartments. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Mouritsen is survived by a sister, Mrs. Eric (Thyra) Davidson of Sunnyvale, Calif. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two daughters and six sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 2, 1989)
