Estherville – Funeral services for Wayne F. Russell, 82, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Mon. Sept. 15, 1997 at First Christian Church in Estherville with Dr. Mike Thiel officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. He died on Fri., Sept. 12, 1997 at Holy Family Health Services in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

He was born on December 24, 1914 in Dickinson County, the son of E. Raymond and Elsie (Hurd) Russell. He received his education in the Petersburg, Minn. schools, graduating from Petersburg High School. On March 20, 1937, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Bentley in Spirit Lake. The couple lived in Jackson County, Minn. for seven years before moving to Estherville in 1947. He farmed for ten years and then was employed by Northern Natural Gas for 28 years, retiring in 1977.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, Majorie Russell of Estherville; son, Gary Russell of Harlan; grandchildren, Mrs. Gary (Julie) Thraen of Harlan; Mrs. LeRoy (Sheryl) Garman of Yutan, Neb.; three great-grandchildren; sisters: Daisy Hillman of Lakefield, Minn.; Winnie Snider of Spirit Lake; Mary Rees of Spirit Lake; Maxine Klein of Spirit Lake and brother Donald Russell of Minneapolis, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 13, 1997)
