Estherville – Funeral services for Lois Irene Rogers, 75, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Glenn S. Bohmer officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Thursday, Jan 2, 2003 in Sioux Falls, S.D.Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
Lois was born on March 12, 1927 in Estherville, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Zerke) Zitterich. She received her education in the Estherville schools.
On Feb. 26, 1949, Lois was united in marriage to Jack Rogers in Jackson, Minn. The couple made their home in Estherville where she was employed as a waitress for several years in a local café and then later she worked for over twenty years at Butterfield Produce.
Lois loved her flower garden, decorating their home both inside and out for the holidays, cooking and baking and quilting at the church. Most especially she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Lois was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She also loved singing and sang in the church choir.
Lois is survived by her husband, Jack of Estherville; two daughters, Karen J. Rogers of Estherville; Yvonne D. Schmidt and her husband, Kevin of Jackson, Minn.; three grandchildren, Natasha, Tyler and Jake; and several nieces and nephews.
She has been preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Rose Syverson; Evelyn Moetzel; Esther Lauritsen, Marybelle “Blondie” Dahl; and five brothers: Richard; William “Bud”; Clair “Bucky”; Francis “Fritz”; and Walter “Wally” Zitterich. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, AI, January 4, 2003)
