Erie, Ill – Services for Mrs. Edna A. [Adelaide] Roberts, 87, formerly of Estherville, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Mavis and the Rev. Rawlin Johnson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1989 at Pleasantview Home, Morrison, Ill.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

She was born March 8, 1901 at Emmetsburg, the daughter of Leonard and Mary (Irish) Randall and attended Ankeny and Des Moines schools. On July 3, 1922, she was united in marriage with Don C. Roberts, Sr. at Des Moines. After marriage the couple lived in Osgood, Beaver and Emmetsburg, moving to Estherville in 1925. He was head custodian in Estherville schools many years. She was a homemaker. In May, 1985, she moved to Erie to live with a son and daughter-in-law.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church, Deaconess, Sunday School teacher, Gamaloga class and the church choir.

Survivors include five sons: Leonard and wife, Mesa, Ariz., Dale and wife, East Moline, Ill., Don C. Jr. and wife, Erie, Ill., Arlo and wife, Alliance, Nebr. and Glen and wife, Trinidad, Colo.; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers: Arthur Randall, Albert Lea, Minn.; Warren Randall, Monroe, La.; two sisters: Mrs. Laura Handelman, Huntington, Ind. and Mrs. Barbara Huston, Andrews, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, who died April 11, 1978, one sister and one brother.
